My art is deeply inspired by my travels around the world, especially the far East, and my inner journey.
In my paintings, I explore moments of beauty, from the mundane to the sublime, that transcend the individual stories we live to a deeper, universal human experience. Beauty is all around us if we open our eyes to it and become present in the experience of reverence.
I believe that art has the capacity to refine our consciousness, both individually as well as collectively. My recent paintings are explorations of the space where the conscious and subconscious meet; where colour and light ensoul the forms, moving from inner depth to repose in an image.
Some questions I hold in my processes are how we reconnect to each other and the unseen worlds, in a time increasingly driven by division and the worldly. How can the creative process inspire us to harmony and healing? How do we foster reverence to the natural and spiritual worlds as we are tightly bound to the every-day lives we lead?
My current work is primarily completed in painting mediums from watercolours and oils to painting with my hands in pastels.
